With the road racing season winding down and the cyclocross season just picking up, its officially the season of the muffin ride. While most of Team Sixcycle-RK&O headed towards the Orchards for a long road ride, a few of the team's riders instead packed up mountain and cyclocross bikes and headed for the mountain biking trails at Six Mile Run in New Jersey for a little bit of change of pace. With breakfast from a food cart and a cooler stocked with water and diet coke the guys headed through the Lincoln Tunnel before 7AM and hit the trails with some friends from the Asphalt Green Cycling Team less than an hour later.
The weather was beautiful and it turned into a terrific day of hammering on a wide array of terrain. Some four hours later the bikes were re-racked and the team headed back to New York City, with plans for cyclocross practice on the following day.
