Health Warrior Returns for 2016

We are proud to announce that Health Warrior is returning as the exclusive title sponsor for New York City based Team Health Warrior during the 2016 calendar year. The team has partnered with Health Warrior for several years and had the privilege of carrying the Health Warrior shield as our title sponsor during the 2015 season. We look forward to another year as Warriors, representing this terrific brand on and off the bike at rides and races across the country.

Health Warrior is a Richmond, Virginia based company that produces a variety of healthy sustainable foods utilizing chia. Their products fuel all aspects of our performance - from strength training in the gym, core work throughout the year and of course while both training and racing on the bike.

The 100 calorie snack bar is available in any flavor from coffee to coconut and is a perfect snack before a quick midweek ride or to top off right before a race. The team also uses the 190-210 calorie protein bar as the perfect hourly snack - re-charging us to push through those three, four, and five hour days out on the road.

Health Warrior began when three friends learned about the benefits of Chia while reading the best-selling book Born to Run. They started eating Chia every day, on everything. Suddenly they were working out harder, lifting heavier, feeling stronger, and running farther, faster. With that Health Warrior was born.

Chia is small but don’t underestimate its power. It was originally nicknamed “the runner food” by powering the Tarahumara indians on their legendary long distance runs. Chia is the original endurance super food and was used to power Aztec Warriors in battle and Aztec Messengers on their cross-empire journeys.

A one pound bag of Health Warrior loose seeds contains:

  • As much Omega-3 as 10 lbs of salmon
  • As much protein as 3 lbs of tofu
  • As much fiber as 4 lbs of oatmeal
  • As much magnesium as 15 lbs of broccoli

Health Warrior is at the forefront of changing the way people eat. While food has become both larger and cheaper, it has also become empty. Calorie count has increased but nutrition density has significantly decreased. Health Warrior is here to prove that packaged food doesn’t have to be junk food. Convenient, real, nutrient dense food is the future of eating on the go.

We are honored to partner with Health Warrior to aid this important change. If you see us at a race or on the road just ask for a sample! We'll be attending races throughout the East Coast with samples of Health Warrior products for racers and spectators alike. In the meantime, Health Warrior products are available at most health food stores, Whole Foods, and their website www.healthwarrior.com
