2019 Partner Roll Call: MotivNY
We are excited to announce that the physical therapy and mobility experts at MotivNY are joining the To Be Determined family for the 2019 season.
MotivNY was started by two New York City based physical therapists to create a community of athletes all focused on the complete process of being a better athlete. From injury rehabilitation to prevention, there is always something an athlete can do to improve their performance - and that’s where we turn to the experts at MotivNY.
As with all of our partnerships, the foundation of TBD x Motiv is based on our first hand experience working with the Motiv team during the 2018 season. Cycling takes it toll on the human body and we had - and continue to have - multiple riders working directly with Motiv for both PT and strength/stability purposes. In the year ahead, the TBD Journal will feature ways that cyclists, and just about anyone, can benefit from focusing on how their body moves to better prevent injury and unlock new performance.
Just as MotivNY will be joining the next phase of the TBD story, we’re excited to be part of the next generation of MotivNY as they occupy their pop-up location at 357 Canal (class schedule) before moving into a brand new facility in the coming months. Both spaces will feature a full recovery lounge stocked with the latest, and most innovative tools of the trade - you can bet on finding us there as the season ramps up. To follow along as TBD and MotivNY ramp for the season ahead, check out MotivNY on Instagram.
We’re here to shift the conversation around physical therapy from problem and solution to performance through holistic and anticipatory techniques. No gimmicks. No trends. Just an all-encompassing range of proven, high-quality, and sport-specific techniques.
MOTIVNY was brought to life by two physical therapists with athletic and training backgrounds. Through working with athletes, they saw a way of taking care of the body that was more in line with the needs of their clients. They didn't want to focus on quick fixes that would lead to more breakdown. They looked to understand the bigger picture—movement patterns and imbalances, diet and sleep habits, and highly personalized strength and conditioning. Now, MOTIVNY takes all of those things into account to help clients—athletes—heal from the rigors of active lives. Because it’s not the work that makes you stronger. It’s the healing.
