Castelli Cycling to power expanded analysis and coverage on the State of the Sport
Our core belief is this: Bike racing is changing. There are important issues to explore, analyze and discuss—and important perspectives that need to be shared and amplified. We see it as our mission at To Be Determined to dive deep into the headwinds facing cycling today and bring our perspective as road racers, race promoters, CRCA leaders, journalists, photographers and data scientists to help define a path forward.
Castelli's support will help make that possible. It will enable more amazing pieces like Ginger Boyd's stories about the pressures on elite women in cycling; more analysis of ridership trends across event types, demographics and gender like our look at Rasputitsa ridership; more thoughts on how traditional road racing can stay alive (or grow) like our piece on how the USAC upgrade system is broken. We're pleased to partner with Castelli as we explore these trends, and are glad for their commitment.
"It is critical for us to continually examine the changing dynamics of cycling, understand what is driving these changes, and for us all to continue to promote the sport any way we can," said Steve Chapin, head of brand strategy at Castelli Cycling. "TBD's State of the Sport series will be both super interesting and informative, and we're thankful for their continued analysis of the evolution of cycling."
Victoria Jansen, head of PR for Castelli, said: "The cycling community is overflowing with stories and experiences. TBD's State of the Sport Series is one step forward in uncovering and understanding those stories – with initiatives like this, to unearth the greater picture of the state of the sport we all love, TBD is creating a much-needed platform where different voices can be heard."
At TBD we're hoping this partnership helps us deliver better content, more thorough analysis, and allow important voices and data to be discussed in the cycling community—something that we hope, ultimately, drives positive growth for the sport.
