Tuesday July 12: Best Bike Racing + Best Beer

Tuesday July 12: Best Bike Racing + Best Beer

We’ve written many, many times about how and why we love racing at an abandoned air strip far out in Brooklyn. We’ve written a guide on how to race at Floyd, about the virtues of Floyd, and how excited we were when they added a women’s field. Of course, we have oodles of race reports. I wrote about my first time racing at Floyd back in 2018, and several teammates contributed to a group race report about how awesomely we’ve been racing as a team out at Floyd this year. We’ve also had some pretty great photo sets! It’s amazing how glorious an old airstrip with grass growing out of the cracks in the pavement can look after a hard hour of racing on a hot summer night.

The tl;dr of it all is that TBD loves Floyd, which is why we eagerly raised our hands to sponsor a night of racing when race promoter and director Tom Mains asked local teams to pitch in to keep the race alive. TBD is sponsoring racing at Floyd Bennett Field this week on Tuesday July 12!

In addition to throwing in some cash to cover the costs of results, insurance, and officials, we’ll also be handing out some free brews from our sponsor, Athletic Brewing. The best part is that because the beer is non-alcoholic, you can enjoy a cold one before OR after your race! We’ll have plenty to share, so make sure you come out and race this week!

Still on the fence? Check the event’s facebook page and/or instagram page for updates (the race is NOT on BikeReg). And as a reminder, we have a guide all about how to race at Floyd!

Hope to see you there on Tuesday!
