Labor Day Weekend: Summer's Last Hurrah

TBD took advantage of summer's last long weekend with a lovely spin towards the shore. Sunday morning we headed towards the Marine Parkway Bridge and over to the ocean before the holiday crowds descended upon the beach.

After a quick flat check, we made our way through the soon-to-be-packed Jacob Riis boardwalk and towards Brothers Rockaway for coffee, pastries, and to reapply sunscreen. Ending with a quick loop of Shirley Chisolm State Park, we were soon back on the road with the rest of our holiday weekend ahead of us.

Roll Out: Pre-NYC Marathon Course Ride

Hours before 50,000 runners line up to tackle the NYC marathon and crush, cyclists from the area congregate in Bay Ridge to ride the famed course as it closes to traffic. It's a day we look forward to all year, as it is a rare opportunity to enjoy carless NYC streets and cross bridges otherwise closed to cyclists.
