We’re Going Green: Launching our second TBD x Castelli Alternative Kit

For the past six years, we have had the distinct privilege of partnering with Castelli. They have been the driving force sponsoring the race and adventure coverage right here on the Journal, and we have proudly worn their apparel across the entire product line through every conceivable condition.

Throughout this partnership, our core kit design has largely stayed true to TBD’s traditional maroon and navy colorway, with a few thoughtful updates along the way—most notably, our recent gold era. But we also loved shaking things up along the way with our first alternative kit, a bright, summer design that we affectionately dubbed "funfetti.”

Our first TBD x Castelli alternative kit: the funfetti summer jersey

Now, we are thrilled to introduce our second TBD x Castelli alternative kit. This time around, we are going in the exact opposite direction from funfetti by embracing a darker green colorway. What should we dub this version? ‘Green with envy’ as teased in our sneak peek? ‘Green galaxy psychedelic tie dye’ as we nicknamed it during the design process? Something about the Hulk? Is this darker alt kit part of TBD officially entering our villain era?

We’re not sure yet.

But what we do know is that we absolutely cannot wait to get this kit out on the road for local rides and upcoming races. The excitement isn't just about the new aesthetic, either. This dark green colorway is printed on the latest generation of Castelli aero race apparel, featuring some massive technical upgrades to both the jerseys and the bibs.

As always, bringing a new look to life wouldn't be possible without our team's Creative Director, Daghan Perker. Daghan consistently takes time out of his busy professional design pursuits to ensure we are looking sharp. He has now designed a decade’s worth of TBD kit and we owe him a massive thank you for his latest and possibly greatest kit design. Keep an eye out for the new dark green alt jersey out on the local roads!
