TBD x Athletic Brewing Palisades Cleanup Day

Last Sunday, devoted TBD members spent the afternoon with our friends at Athletic Brewing putting in a little sweat equity and giving back to the place where we all love to ride: the Palisades. Specifically (and perhaps not so gloriously), we spent Sunday afternoon picking up garbage at the Englewood Boat Basin picnic area and Bloomer Beach to the north.

The area was HOPPIN’ on Sunday, and for good reason. The weather was fabulous. And as summer slowly draws to a close, it seemed like everyone was looking to steal a few more hours of bbq time before September rolls around.

But, a busy Boat Basin also meant a pretty dirty one. We picked up garbage for about three hours, filling bag after bag after bag. The best/worst find? A dirty diaper. Yuck.

Despite the odious task at hand, we managed to have fun catching up with one another and toasting a job well done with some great brews from Athletic. If you’re interested in joining us for a trail clean-up day in the future, drop us a line. We’d love to have an extra hand.
