TBD Race Calendar: October 2021

We may be tempting fate saying this, but it finally feels like there is enough stability in the event schedule to officially bring back the TBD Race Calendar. If you have been watching closely, you might notice that this is the first TBD Race Calendar update since February 27, 2020 and oh my has a lot changed since then. But, fingers crossed, there is going to be a whole lot of racing to be done on the East Coast in October.

Here is a look at the races that we’re most looking forward to in the month to come, and keep an eye on the TBD Race Calendar because we’ll keep it updated through cyclocross season as the 2022 road season kicks off:

  • October 2-3: this weekend is perhaps the biggest of the month with the not to be missed Charm City CX in Baltimore. This is one of our favorite races of the year and we’re even having some of the TBD-Colorado crew fly in to partake in the festivities at the 2021 edition. Stay tuned to the Journal because we’ll have a full Weekend Forecast for Charm coming soon. There are a few other CX races to consider as well. For those lingering on skinny tires late into the fall, there is the New Haven Grand Prix on Friday October 1st and the final Prospect Park race of the year on Saturday. Update: we hear that the NHGP has been cancelled due to COVID concerns. h/t Keith.

  • October 9-10: after a big weekend of racing at Charm, the second weekend of the month will be more low-key with two race options on Sunday October 10th: Crossasaurus Awesome in PACX and Minuteman CX in New England.

  • October 16-17: this weekend features the return of HPCX to the calendar. This is another East Coast classic with UCI roots, though for 2021 it looks to be non-UCI and with a single day of racing. But we will still have a big crew in attendance for this one.

  • October 23-24: this will be the slowest weekend of the month, with a single race - Cooper River Cross on Sunday October 24th. Some of the team will probably take this weekend off to recover and maybe go looking for some Fall color.

  • October 30-31: while part of the team likely takes the final weekend of the month off for Halloween festivities, there is also Cheshire CX with its infamous hill climb and hecklers a very manageable drive from NYC. Its been a few years since we have featured Cheshire on the Journal, but this is a fun race, especially if you don’t mind a bit of climbing.

If we are missing any races from the calendar just drop us a note using the contact form on the TBD Race Calendar page. We want to make sure the calendar is as comprehensive as possible.
